Photo Album: Water Entering Basement of 1950s Home, Epping, NH
A homeowner in Epping, New Hampshire, purchased their home 6 years ago. Upon moving into their home they noticed a small amount of water entering the basement. Over the next 6 years, the homeowners saw more water frequently in the basement. The homeowner wanted to find a solution before they sold the home in the next 5 years. To find a solution they reached out to EFS for a free inspection of their home. Our Design Specialist Josh Phillips met with the homeowners and inspected the entire basement to find where the water was entering the basement. Josh discovered that the water was seeping up from below the slab and recommended installing WaterGuard, Trench Drain, TripleSafe, IceGuard, Exterior Drainage Line, and a SaniDry into the basement to keep the water and moisture out of the basement.
Our Installation Team led by Steven Dumais began by chipping out concrete around the perimeter of the basement. In this trench is where we will install our WaterGuard, Trench Drain, and our TripleSafe. To install everything into the trench they divided and conquered. One person installed the TripleSafe and the other two installed the WaterGuard and Trench Drain around the perimeter of the basement. When installing the TripleSafe, the team dug down far enough under the slab to install our basin. Once the basin was installed the team installed the pump and plumbed the system to the exterior of the home where we installed an IceGuard and 10' Exterior Drainage Line. While the pump was being installed the other members of the team installed 92' of WaterGuard and 14' of Trench Drain around the perimeter of the basement. After installing the perimeter drainage the team connected the drainage to the sump pump and tested the system. Once the team verified the system worked correctly the team then mixed up concrete and poured it over the perimeter drainage and around the TripleSafe. After the concrete cures, the team then installed the SaniDry Sedona next to the TripleSafe so the discharge line can empty out into the sump pump.
The homeowners were very happy with the results of the project and no longer have to worry about water collecting into the basement.
Basement Before WaterProofing
The basement had water frequently entering their basement.
Perimeter Drainage Before Concrete
The team installed 92' of WaterGuard and 12' of Trench Drain around the perimeter of the basement to collect any water that tried to enter the basement.
Concrete Over Perimeter Drainage
After the perimeter drainage was installed the team then poured concrete over it to lock it into place.
Sump Pump and Dehumidifier Installed
The team installed the TripleSafe and SaniDry Sedona to pump water out of the basement and lower the humidity.
Exterior Drainage System
On the outside of the home, the team installed 2 IceGuard and a 10' Exterior Drainage Line.
