Photo Album: 100 Year Old Home has Tested High for Radon, Berlin, MA
A 100-year-old home in Berlin, Massachusetts had high levels of radon, prompting the homeowner to contact EFS for an inspection and solution. Design Specialist Liam FitzPatrick inspected the basement and recommended a Radon Mitigation system to collect radon from beneath the home, as well as CleanSpace to prevent radon from seeping through the slab. The Installation Team, led by Dillon Kingsbury, created an extraction point in the basement and connected a PVC pipe to it, leading to the exterior of the house where a radon fan was installed. The team then encapsulated the basement with CleanSpace, laying down Drainage Matting first to allow water to flow underneath. After the project was completed, the home was retested and found to have radon levels below the recommended amount, bringing relief to the homeowner.
