Photo Album: Water Entering Basement, Rochester, NH

A resident of Rochester, New Hampshire has been living in their home for 17 years. However, during most of that time, they have consistently faced the issue of water entering their basement and collecting in small amounts on the basement slab. The homeowner uses the basement for both storage and as a workout area, and they would like to maintain a dry environment without any concerns about water. To address the issue, the homeowner contacted EFS for a free basement inspection. Our Design Specialist, Michael LaMalfa, conducted a thorough inspection to assess the homeowner's concerns. Based on his findings, Michael recommended installing WaterGuard, A SuperSump, IceGuard, and an Exterior Drainage Line in the home to prevent water from entering the basement.  Our Installation Team, led by Steve Dumais, began by chipping out 80 feet of concrete around half of the perimeter of the basement. The team created a 6-inch wide trench and a hole to install our sump pump. After removing the concrete, the team proceeded with installing the sump pump and the perimeter drainage. The sump was installed flush with the concrete slab, and the pump was plumbed to the exterior of the home where an IceGuard and a 10-foot Exterior Drainage Line were installed by our team. While the sump was being installed, another member of the team installed the perimeter drainage. 80 feet of perimeter drainage was integrated into the trench and connected to the sump pump, ensuring that any water entering the drainage is led to the pump and sent out of the home. Once the drainage was tested, our team mixed up concrete and poured it over the drainage line and around the sump pump to lock them into place.  The homeowner was thrilled with the outcome of the project and no longer has to worry about water entering their basement.
