A homeowner from Goffstown, New Hampshire bought their house in late 2018. The property, constructed in 1974, had its front-facing foundation wall slowly bowing inward over the years, raising concerns of complete failure. The homeowners reached out to the foundation experts at Erickson Foundation Solutions who offered a free inspection of the property. During the inspection, Design Specialist Jared Pavluvcik assessed the basement and recommended an Auxiliary wall installation across the entire front foundation wall.
Neal Foley and his Installation Team began by measuring the wall and determining the number of vertical beams required to support it. They then installed L brackets at the base of the wall to hold the vertical beams. Next, the team used brackets to attach the beams to the floor system and installed rebar between them. Finally, the team set up concrete forms and poured concrete behind them to create the Aux wall. After 1-2 days, the concrete cured, and the team removed the forms.
The homeowner was entirely satisfied with the results of the Aux wall installation, putting their mind at ease about the wall's bowing.
