Photo Album: Condo Concrete Walkway Repairs, Canton, MA
For this project, our team successfully repaired various sections of concrete walkway for a number of condominiums in Canton, MA.
With a high foot traffic volume outside these condo homes, the association and owners wished to lift, level, and fix several sections of settled and cracked concrete throughout the condo village. Many of the slabs in need of repair were right outside the entrances, and the trip hazards were both unsafe and unsightly.
Our team designed and proposed a solution utilizing our PolyLevel and NexusPro services. PolyLevel is a polymer foam that expands and lifts concrete once it is injected into the voids and spaces beneath the settled concrete. Once the lifting and stabilizing is complete, the next step is to seal all the cracks and joints in the concrete with NexusPro. This exterior grade sealant ensures that unwanted water can no longer flow beneath the concrete and cause more erosion or lead to further cracks and settlement. For the owners in this condo village, it was crucial for them to have a safe environment for walking, both for their families and their visitors. Once the repairs were complete, they were thrilled with the results and will contact our Erickson team again should they encounter more concrete concerns in the future.
Uneven Concrete at Entrance
One of the entrance ways had severe settlement in the concrete slab at the bottom of the stairs for the front door. This uneven concrete caused the bottom step to be unsafe. The cracks and settlement were only going to get worse unless the problem was solved.
Concrete Stairs & Walkway Settlement
The precast concrete stairs and the adjoining walkway outside this condominium unit had settled are the soil beneath them became unstable.
Sealing Concrete Cracks and Joints
After the concrete was lifted and leveled to create a safe place for walking, the cracks and joints were also sealed with NexusPro.
Concrete Walkway Stabilized
PolyLevel was injected beneath the settled concrete slab to lift it back to a level position, and stabilize it against any future settlement. The joints were then also sealed to prevent water from flowing beneath the slab and stairs.
Walkway and Entrance Repairs
Another entrance for a condo unit had similar settlement and cracking concerns in the concrete. Our team successfully stabilized the walkway without have to remove any existing concrete, and sealed the cracks with an exterior grade silicone based caulking called NexusPro.
