The Blaisdell Library in Nottingham, NH was concerned with the condition of their sidewalk leading up to their building. The concrete walkway was uneven in most places, and had several trip hazards, all of which created an unsafe environment for the patrons of the library. Our inspection specialist, Victor Tapia, designed and proposed and solution to repair the sidewalk with PolyLevel, an expanding polymer foam used for lifting and leveling concrete slabs.
The main benefits of PolyLevel as a solution include being cost effective, and the clean and efficient manner of installation.
Our production team was able to complete all the repairs in a single day, successfully lifting and leveling all the problem areas along the walkway. While there, they also helped protect other areas of the concrete that would be at risk of failing and sinking in the future. With the concrete walkway fully stabilized and safe, the final step involved sealing all the expansion joints with NexusPro, a silicone based caulking designed for outdoor applications. By sealing the joints, less water can flow beneath the concrete, helping prevent soil erosion and further settlement issues.
The sidewalk outside this library is now level, free of trip hazards, and safe for the community.
