A homeowner in New Ipswich, New Hampshire, moved into their home right after it was built in 2021. The homeowners knew when they moved in that the radon levels were around 2 pCi/L. Now, two and a half years later the homeowner tested their home again for radon and the levels were now at 5 pCi/L. The homeowners wanted to lower the radon levels to below 4.0 pCi/L. They called EFS and the homeowner met with our Design Specialist Isaac recommended and designed a radon mitigation system that will lower the radon levels in the home to a comfortable level.
Our installation team began by creating an extraction point in the slab of the basement to draw up any radon-filled air from beneath the home. The air will be collected in a PVC pipe that will be guided to the exterior of the home where the team installed the radon fan. The team connected the PVC pipe to the radon fan and then vented the system above the roofline to prevent radon air from re-entering the home.

Radon Extraction Point and Pipe
The team installed an extraction point in the basement to draw radon-filled air from beneath the home and direct it to the radon fan to send it up and away from the home.
Radon Fan Installed
The team connected the radon fan to the extraction point so it could push radon-filled air above and away from the home.
