Photo Album: Radon Mitigation System Installed, Sandown, NH
A homeowner in Sandown, New Hampshire, had lived in their home for the past 20 years. This year the homeowners wanted to test their home for radon for the first time. They tested the home and the results came back with an average of 8 pCi/L. The homeowner called EFS about us installing a radon system in their home. Our Design Specialist Kenny visited the home and designed a radon mitigation system for the home to lower the radon levels.
Our installation team began by creating an extraction point in the basement. Then we attached the PVC pipe to the extraction point and then fed the PVC pipe to the exterior of the home where the radon fan was installed. Once outside the team connected the PVC pipe to the radon fan and then vented the system above the roofline of the home to ensure radon cannot re-enter into the home.
A week or two after the system was installed the home was retested for radon and the levels in the home were below the recommended amount of 4.0 pCi/L.
