Photo Album: Town Building has High Radon Levels, Andover, NH
The town of Andover, New Hampshire reached out to EFS for us to look at their building. The town was concerned with the levels of radon in their building. The building was previously tested for radon and the levels averaged around 30 pCi/L. Our Design Specialist Josh came to the building and inspected the basement. Josh after his inspection recommended installing 3 radon fans with 3 extraction points, CleanSpace, NexusPro, ERV, and Aspen Air Purifier to keep radon out and improve the air quality in the building.
Our installation team began by creating 3 extraction points in the basement to collect radon from under the building. Next, the team will connect PVC pipes to the extraction points and series them together until they are outside the building. Once outside the team installed the PVC pipe to the radon fan and vented the system about the roofline. After the Radon System was installed, we then moved on to install CleanSpace and NexusPro into the section of the basement that has some ledge protruding from the basement floor. The team covered the ledge with CleanSpace and sealed any cracks in the concrete with NexusPro. After those were installed the team then installed the ERV in the basement. The team installed the ERV above the ledge in the basement and then used its plumbing to direct basement air to the outside of the home and outside air inside the basement to make the air quality better inside the basement. After the ERV was installed the team installed an Aspen Air Purifier into the main floor of the building to purify the air.

CleanSpace and ERV Installed
The team installed CleanSpace over the ledge in the basement to prevent radon from seeping into the basement. The team also installed an ERV system to draw in clean outside air and send out old stagnant basement air.
Aspen Installed
The team installed the Aspen in the main part of the building next to the refrigerator to clean the air in the building.
Radon Fans Installed
The team installed 3 radon fans to draw out as much radon as possible out from under the building.
