Photo Album: Homeowner Concerned with Sagging Floors, Concord, NH
A homeowner in Concord, New Hampshire, has lived in their home for the past 20 years. A few years after they moved into the home they noticed some sagging on their floors. The homeowner hasn't seen any changes in over 15 years but they decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their floor system. Our Design Specialist Victor inspected the home and recommended installing 3 SmartJacks with a 9' Supplemental beam into the basement to add support to the floor system.
Our installation team began by chipping out three footings next to the stairs that enter the basement. The team installed 3 of our big footings so they will fit flush beneath the concrete. After the footings were placed, the team then started to install the rest of the SmartJack and the Supplemental beam. They secured the SmartJacks to the Supplemental beam by using a U bracket and strong screws. Once they were both secured the team then used the adjustable top of the SmartJacks to begin lifting up on the floor system. The team was able to lift up the floor system and eliminate the sagging in the floors above.
