An owner of a building in Manchester, New Hampshire, has owned the building for 3 years. About a month ago the front of the building was damaged by a vehicle running into it. The building had a fieldstone foundation and some of the stones were damaged and you could see into the basement from the front of the building. The owner of the building decided to call EFS for a free inspection of the building. Our Design Specialist Victor inspected the building and recommended installing RimJoist Insulation and an Auxiliary wall into the basement to repair the foundation wall.
Our installation team began by covering the upper part of the foundation wall and around the hole with RimJoist Insulation. This will protect the home from drafts of cold air and pest entering the basement. Next, the team installed 5 PowerBraces along the foundation wall to support the foundation wall. After the PowerBraces were installed the team began creating a footing for the Auxiliary Wall to sit on. The team poured the footing and waited for it to cure before setting up the forms for the rest of the Auxiliary Wall. When the footing cured the team then set up the forms and poured concrete into the forms. The team poured the concrete on a Friday and came back Monday to remove the forms. On Monday, the team removed the forms and removed any imperfections from the concrete before packing up the forms and finishing the job.

The building was hit by a vehicle which caused damage to the foundation wall.
PowerBrace and Footing Poured
The team installed the PowerBrace to brace the wall and the footing to create a level space for the Auxiliary wall to rest on.
Aux Wall Forms Braced
The team set up the forms for the Auxiliary wall and braced them so they could pour the concrete into the forms.
Forms Removed
After the concrete had cured the team removed the forms.
Imperfections Trimmed
The team trimmed off any imperfections in the concrete before leaving the job site.
