Photo Album: Elevated Radon Levels in Forever Home, Deerfield, NH
These homeowners in Deerfield, New Hampshire, purchased their forever home 4 years ago. A few months ago the homeowners had become concerned about having radon in their home. They decided to test their home for radon and the test results came back with an average of 10.0 pCi/L which is high. The homeowner would like to lower the radon levels to below 4.0 pCi/L. They called EFS for an inspection of their home. Our Design Specialist Liam inspected the home and recommended and designed a radon mitigation system with 2 extraction points for the home.
Our installation team began by creating 2 extraction points in different areas of the basement to collect as much radon air from under the home as possible. The team used a coring drill to make the extraction points and then the team fitted a PVC to the extraction points. The PVC pipe bridged the two extraction points and then we fed the PVC pipe to the exterior of the home where we installed the radon fan to the side of the home. Once the PVC pipe was connected to the radon fan the team then used more PVC piping to vent the system above the roofline of the home.
Before 1st Extraction Point
This is where the first extraction point will be located in the basement.
Before Second Extraction Point
The second extraction point will be installed between the woodstove and the water heater.
1st Extraction Point
The team installed the PVC pipe into the first extraction point.
2nd Extraction Point
The team connected the 1st extraction point to the 2nd with the PVC pipe and then the team fed the pipe to the exterior of the home.
Radon Fan Installed
The team connected the PVC pipe to the fan and then used more PVC to vent the system above the roofline of the home.
