Photo Album: Maintain 150-Year-Old Building With Push Piers, Boston, MA
The owner of a 3-level building in Boston, Massachusetts, had seen a building in Miami collapse and had become concerned with their 150-year-old building. The owner's son lives on the top floor of the building so they decided they wanted to add stabilization to the structure of the building. They called EFS for a free inspection and our Design Specialist John recommended installing Push Piers around the main brick support in the building.
Our installation team first chipped out the concrete around the brick column. The team then installed the Push Pier Bracket before pushing our piers through the soil below the building. The team pushed the piers until they reach our PSI goal for each pier. Once at the correct pressure, the team capped each pier and installed rebar around the bracket before covering the entire bracket in concrete.
