Photo Album: Concrete Wall Cracking Because of Next Door Condo, Lowell, MA
An owner of a condo in Lowell, Massachusetts, had a large horizontal crack in their foundation wall. The owners called the project management group that does work for the condo association and had them look at the crack. With the owner's permission, the management group called EFS for a free inspection of the foundation wall. Our Project Manager/ Design Specialist Nate inspected the foundation wall and recommended installing Helical Anchors on the foundation wall and sealing the crack in the foundation with Crack Injection.
Our installation team arrived onsite and first measured where we will install the Helical Anchors. The team spaced 7 spots across the 34' foundation wall. The team then used a coring drill to create a hole big enough to fit our helical into. Once all of the holes were cored out, the team inserted the helical and used our handheld hydraulic drive head to torque the helical into the soil until we reached 1800 PSI. After each helical has reached our goal of the 1800 PSI the team installed a plate to the foundation wall to use the helical as leverage to hold the wall in place. After the plates were installed to the helical anchor, the team then used Crack Injection to seal the 27' crack in the foundation.
