Photo Album: Settlement Between Main Foundation and Garage Foundation, Nashua, NH
A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire, had lived in their home for the past 30 years. In the past couple of years, they have noticed some cracking on their foundation where the foundation of the home meets the garage foundation. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their basement and foundation. Our Design Specialist John recommended installing 4 Push Piers to the inside of the basement to protect the foundation from further settlement.
Our team began by marking where each Push Pier will be installed based off of John's design. After each location was marked the team then chipped out a small section of concrete so the team could then expose the foundation footing. The team attached our Push Pier brackets to the foundation footing before using a hydraulic press to push the piers beneath the home under they reached sufficient pressure to support the home. Once all of the piers were pressurized the team capped all of the Push Piers and then backfilled around them. Once covered in dirt, the team then poured new concrete to match the basement floor. While the concrete was curing the team cleaned up the work area and packed up their trucks before giving the homeowner a rundown of everything they installed.
