Photo Album: Leaky Basement in Commercial Building, Manchester, New Hampshire
The owner of a commercial building in Manchester, New Hampshire, has owned this building for 35 years. Since purchasing the building they have always had water entering the basement. More recently they have seen water coming in through a crack in the foundation. They have tried to have the crack sealed but nothing has held up. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist Jason inspected the basement and recommended sealing the crack on the foundation wall, installing perimeter drainage around the perimeter of the basement to collect any water that enters, and installing a SaniDry to control the humidity in the space.
Our production team first chipped out the concrete around the perimeter of the basement so they could install the WaterGuard. After the perimeter of the basement was chipped out the team then began installing the FlexiSpan to the crack in the foundation. The FlexiSpan will cover the crack and channel any water from that crack into the perimeter drainage system. After the FlexiSpan was installed, the team then laid the WaterGuard into the chipped-out section of concrete around the perimeter of the basement. Once the WaterGuard was placed and water tested the team then poured concrete over the top of the perimeter drainage system. Lastly, the team installed the SaniDry into the basement and fed the drainage line into the existing sump pump liner.
