Photo Album: Brick Pillar to be Replaced, Cambridge, MA

A property management group that manages a few buildings in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The building's tenants had noticed some changes with the floor and have noticed some minor cracking on their foundation wall. The property management group and the tenants wanted to have the brick pillars removed from the basement, so they called EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist Kenny examined the basement of the building and recommended removing the brick pillars and replacing them with SmartJacks.  Our production team set up temporary supports throughout the basement before removing the brick pillars. The team knocked down the brick supports and then hauled out all of the debris. After all 13 of the brick supports were removed, the team then created footings for each of the SmartJacks being installed. The team created 24 footings for the 24 SmartJacks to be installed in the basement. The team installed all of the supports over the footing we created and secured them to the floor system above. The team lastly covered the base of each SmartJacks with concrete to lock them into place.
