Photo Album: New Homeowners Concerned About Radon Levels, Pelham, NH
A new homeowner in Pelham, New Hampshire, had recently purchased their home in May 2022. Since the purchase of their home, they have been worried about the radon levels. The homeowners had the radon levels tested and the results of the test came back at 9.0 pCi/L which was fairly high. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free radon inspection, and our design specialist recommended installing a radon mitigation system to reduce the radon levels in the home.
Our production team began by creating an extraction point in the basement slab. Using a core drill the team cut out a circular section of concrete so they could install PVC pipe at the extraction point. Once the PVC pipe was secured to the extraction point the team fed the PVC pipe to the exterior of the home. Once the PVC pipe was guided outside the team began installing the radon fan. The team installed the fan and connected it to the PVC pipe so the radon fan can draw radon-filled air from underneath the foundation of the home. Lastly, the team vented the radon system above the roofline of the home to make sure radon cannot re-enter the home.
