Photo Album: Water Entering Basement During Rain Storms, Concord, NH
This homeowner in Concord, New Hampshire, had lived in their home for 52 years. In the last 3 years, the homeowner noticed a change where water had begun entering the basement during rainstorms and times of melting snow. The homeowner doesn't want to continue to clean up water in their basement so they decided to call EFS for a free inspection. Our design specialist recommended installing an UltraSump, WaterGuard, and IceGuard in the home to prevent water from collecting in the basement.
Our production team began by chipping out concrete near where the water had been entering the basement. Around 10 feet of concrete was chipped out along the wall so they could install the UltraSump and WaterGuard. After the concrete was removed, the team removed dirt to create a basin for the UltraSump. Once the dirt was removed, the team installed the UltraSump into the hole. Following the UltraSump being installed, the team installed 8 feet of WaterGuard to collect water and direct it toward the UltraSump. Once the WaterGuard was installed the team and the UltraSump was secured the team poured concrete around the basin and over the WaterGuard. As the concrete was curing the team plumbed the sump pump to the exterior of the home. The team installed the IceGuard to the drainage line to prevent the line from backing up into the basement. After the IceGuard was installed the team buried the drainage line away from the home so no water can re-enter the home. The final piece of the project left was to make sure the concrete cured properly. Once the team ensured that the concrete had been set properly the job was complete.
Before Sump Pump Installation
The homeowner would have to wet vac the carpet whenever water would enter the basement.
UltraSump Installed
The team installed the UltraSump and connected it to the WaterGuard System.
WaterGuard System
The team installed the WaterGuard. Then poured and smoothed concrete over it to avoid a tripping hazard.
IceGuard Installed
Once water travels through the WaterGuard and the UltraSump, water will travel up into the drainage line through the IceGuard and away from the home.
Exterior Drainage Line
The team installed the exterior drainage line over 10' away from the foundation of the home to ensure water cannot re-enter the home.
