Photo Album: Radon Mitigation and Crawlspace Encapsulation, Portsmouth, NH
A homeowner of a home in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, had concerns about radon and water entering their crawlspace. They reached out to EFS for free radon and crawlspace inspection. The design specialist recommended installing a radon mitigation system with 2 extraction points, sealing a crack in the foundation wall, and installing Drainage Matting and CleanSpace into the crawlspace to encapsulate it.
Our production team began by drilling the two extraction points, one in the finished basement and one in the crawlspace. After the extraction points were made, the team fed PVC piping from each extraction point. The two extraction points were connected and fed to the exterior of the home. Once the PVC pipes were outside of the house the team installed the radon fan to the exterior and connected the PVC pipe to it. Once secured the team vented the rest of the radon system above the roofline of the home to ensure that radon can't re-enter the home.
After the radon mitigation system was installed the team then moved on to sealing the crack in the foundation. The team injected NexusPro into the foundation crack to seal it permanently.
After our team sealed the crack in the foundation, the team then began to cover the crawlspace floor with Drainage Matting. Once the floor was covered with Drainage Matting, the team then began to cover the floor and walls with CleanSpace. The CleanSpace will create a vapor barrier that will not allow any moisture or radon to penetrate through the CleanSpace.
