Photo Album: Horizontal Crack in Foundation, Westford, MA
A homeowner in Westford, Massachusetts, had lived in their home for the past 30 years. When they purchased the home in the early '90s the homeowners noticed a crack in the front-facing foundation wall. 3 years ago the homeowner noticed the crack was getting bigger, and the wall had started to bow inward. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection, and our design specialist recommended installing PowerBraces to the front-facing foundation wall.
Our production team began by measuring the wall and spacing the 7 PowerBrace evenly across the foundation wall. After the location of each PowerBrace was marked the team began setting the L brackets a couple of inches away from the base of the wall. After the L brackets were secured the team started installing the bracket system into the floor joists. Once all of the brackets were installed the team inserted the I-beams into place. After all the beams were in place the team tightened the bracket system to stabilize the wall.
