Photo Album: High Radon Levels, Center Ossipee, NH
This homeowner in Center Ossipee, New Hampshire, has owned their home since the 1970s as a second home. This year they decided they were going to make this home their primary home. They were concerned with the levels of radon in their home now that they are living there full time. The homeowners used a continuous radon monitoring system to test the home for radon, and the radon levels came back at 37 pCi/L. Our design specialist recommended installing a radon mitigation system with 2 extraction points.
Our production team began by sealing any cracks in the basement slab with NexusPro. After the cracks were sealed, the team made the two extraction points. One extraction point was installed in the northeast corner and the other in the southwest corner of the basement. After the extraction points were made, the team connected the two extraction points with PVC pipe and then vented them outside to the radon fan. The radon fan was installed on the southeast corner of the home and the fan was vented above the roofline so radon can't re-enter the home.
