A homeowner in Amherst, New Hampshire, had moved into their home 2 years ago and wanted to make their crawlspace into a more useful space. They would like to be able to store things in their crawlspace. Right now the crawlspace is damp and dirty and if anything was stored in there it would get ruined. Our design specialist recommended installing SmartJacks, Drainage Matting, and CleanSpace into their crawlspace.
Our production team began by clearing out the crawlspace of all debris. The team then created footings for the SmartJacks. After the footings were made they connected the SmartJacks to the main beam. The main beam had sagged a little so the team lifted the main beam up around a 1/2". After the SmartJacks were installed the team moved on to installing the Drainage Matting. The team covered the floor with Drainage Matting. The matting will allow water and air to travel underneath it. After the matting was installed, the team then encapsulated the crawlspace with CleanSpace.
CrawlSpace Before Encapsulation
The crawlspace was damp and dirty before encapsulation.
SmartJacks Installed
The team installed the SmartJacks first. After the SmartJacks were installed the team then installed the Drainage Matting and CleanSpace.
After CleanSpace and SmartJacks
The team installed the SmartJacks, Drainage Matting, then CleanSpace to fully encapsulate and support the crawlspace.
