Photo Album: Crawlspace Encapsulation, Gloucester, MA
A new homeowner had recently purchased a new home in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The home was built in the 1940s and needed some renovations. The homeowner first wanted to address some groundwater that was collecting on their crawlspace floor. The homeowner reached out to EFS for a free inspection, and we recommended encapsulating and installing a sump pump into the crawlspace.
The EFS crew installed Drainage Matting, CleanSpace, and a SmartSump into the basement. The Drainage Matting will allow air and water to travel underneath it. This paired with the SmartSump will allow water to navigate to the sump. Then the CleanSpace will encapsulate the space making sure water cannot enter the crawlspace through the vapor barrier. This entire system will control moisture in the crawlspace while collecting and pushing out groundwater that had tried to seep through the concrete in the crawlspace.
Concrete Floored Crawlspace
The crawlspace had groundwater entering from underneath.
Old Sump Pit
The crawlspace had an old sump pit that was supposed to collect water that enters.
Crawlspace Encapsulated
The team installed Drainage Matting and CleanSpace around the entire crawlspace.
SmartSump Installed
The team installed the SmartSump into the old sump pit hole. The team made sure to seal around the SmartSump to ensure no moisture can enter the crawlspace.
