Photo Album: High Radon Levels Found During Pre-Purchase Inspection, Brookfield, NH
During the pre-purchase inspection, the home inspector tested the home for radon. The levels in the home were 52 pCi/L. The previous homeowner had lived in the home for 35 years and had no idea the radon levels were as high as they were. Before moving into the home the new homeowner called EFS for a free inspection.
Design Specialist Stephen Caron inspected the home. During his inspection, he determined that 2 extraction points would be effective, but recommended installing 4 total extraction points to ensure the radon levels are mitigated to a healthy level. The homeowner decided to start with 2 extraction points instead of 4. The new homeowner would upgrade to 4 extraction points if they felt it was necessary.
Crew Lead Dillon Kingsbury and his team installed two radon systems that draw from two extraction points. The extraction points are on opposite sides of the basement.
