Photo Album: SmartJacks with Concentric Piers, Peabody, MA
This homeowner in Peabody, Massachusetts had been experiencing sinking in the middle of his home. The main floors in his home are slanting toward the middle of the home. The homeowner would like to find a way to lift and stabilize the floors. The homeowner had a friend that does engineering that design a fix. The fix included support that is set in the ground around 2' and has a pier connected to it. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection and their thoughts on this type of solution.
Design Specialist Isaac Hernandez inspected the home. Isaac looked at the plan that the homeowners' friend had provided. Isaac found out that the pier was going to be connected to the support because the homeowner wanted to eventually drop the basement floor by 2' and wanted to make sure he didn't have to redo the supports again. Isaac recommended installing SmartJacks with concentric piers attached to the bottom.
Crew Lead Chris Tremblay and his team arrived at the home and installed 6 SmartJacks with Concentric Push Piers.
Before EFS Installed SmartJacks
Except for the chipped-out concrete, this is what the basement of the home looked like before EFS installed the SmartJacks.
SmartJacks Set on Concentric Piers
The team first sets the piers in place under where they want to install the SmartJacks. Then they connect the SmartJacks to the piers.
