Kristen Reed of Lexington, Massachusetts has been living in their home for 14 years. During the pre-purchase inspection, the inspector told them to get the brick supports inspected. Now, 14 years later, Kristen wants the brick supports inspected. Kristen called Erickson Foundation Solutions to see about a free inspection.
Design Specialist Chris Greenwood arrived at the home and inspected the brick supports in the basement. After a thorough inspection of the supports, Chris recommended that the brick supports be taken down and replaced with SmartJacks.
Crew Lead Ed Nadreau and his crew arrived at the home in Lexington and installed 3 SmartJacks to replace the brick supports.
24 Inch Hole Dug, Lexington, MA
The crew dug a 24-inch hole beneath the concrete so they could fill it with engineered fill. This will allow for the SmartJack footing to be able to rest on something stable when it is installed.

The crew filled the hole with the engineered fill and then inserted the SmartJack over the engineered fill.
Concrete Poured Over the Footing
After the footing was set and the SmartJack was load baring, concrete was poured over the footing so no one can trip over the hole in the floor.
