Photo Album: 1950's Home Needs New Supports, Littleton, MA
Laura P. of Littleton, Massachusetts recently bought a home on a large pond. The home lies on a steep downslope that leads right to the water. The part of her home that looks over the pond is sitting on this steep downslope. The supports that are holding the home in place were starting to sink. Laura would like to have this part of the home fixed before doing other projects around the home.
She called Erickson Foundation Solutions to see if they could come and propose a solution for her home. Design Specialist John Prince came to the home and inspected the supports. He wanted to make sure that his calculation were correct about the weight that each support would need to hold, so he got in contact with an engineer. After a conversation with the engineer, John felt confident about his proposal. He proposed replacing the old concrete piers with bigger bulkier concrete piers that can hold the weight of the home. Along with the concrete piers, he proposed new supports that will be standing on the concrete piers.
Crew Lead Nick Carelli and his team came to the home and installed temporary post while they removed the old concrete piers and poured and installed the new concrete piers. The crew was able to stabilize the home and Laura felt confident about the work that was done.
