Photo Album: Pool Deck Cracking and Chipping, Billerica, MA
Robert M. of Billerica, Massachusetts has lived in his home with his family for 12 years. 3 years ago he started to notice some cracking and chipping of his pool deck. Robert wants to maintain the value of his home. He called Erickson Foundation Solutions to see if someone could come out and look at his pool deck.
Design Specialist Royce Potts came to the home and inspected the pool deck. He found a large section of concrete that had cracked and had washed away leaving a section of rough concrete. On Royce's walk around he also found some minor chipping and cracking around the whole pool that would need to be repaired.
After a full inspection of the pool area, Royce proposed that Erickson use PolyLevel to fill the void under each slab around the pool deck, patch the large section of concrete that wore away, then next spring resurface the whole pool deck with Resurface Pro.
Crew Lead Nick Melo and his crew came to the home and started injecting the PolyLevel to fill the void. After the Poly was injected, they started doing patchwork on the rough concrete to build it back up to the rest of the pool deck.
Concrete Section That has Chipped Away
The top tan layer of concrete has chipped all the way down to the base concrete.
PolyLevel Crew Filling Void
The crew drilled port-holes in a grid pattern throughout the pool deck to fill the void under each slab.
Crew Making a Patch for Damaged Concrete Section
The team used universal concrete to create a patch for the pool. This will give them a flat space to walk while they wait for the resurface crew to install Resurface Pro in the spring.
