Photo Album: Fast Drain and Sump Replacement, Saugus, MA
Darlene B. of Saugus, Massachusetts has had this home in the family for over 100 years. She is willing to do whatever it takes to keep that home standing in good condition. She found that whenever it rained she would find the water is seeping through the back wall. She decided to call Erickson Foundation Solutions about finding a solution to her problem.
Design Specialist Isaac Hernandez came to the home and inspected her basement to find what was allowing the water inside the basement. With Darlene's home being a granite foundation, water can tend to seep through into the basement. Isaac recommended that EFS install a fast drain system into the basement along with a new sump pump with a battery backup.
Crew Lead Branden Edwards and his team came to the home and installed the fast drain and the sump pump with battery backup.
Basement Before Fast Drain and Sump Pump
Before the crew showed up to install the fast drain and sump pump the homeowner had to remove some of the wood paneling to give them access to the wall. The crew will chip out a small section of concrete a couple of inches from the wall so they can fit the fast drain in.
Old Sump Pump
The old sump pump was a 5-gallon bucket with holes drilled through it.
Fast Drain and New Sump Pump
The fast drain is inserted into the chipped-out concrete, then covered with some gravel. The old sump pump was chipped out and a newer bigger sump pump was installed. The last thing that needs to be done is to pour new concrete over the fast drain and then around the new sump pump.
Concrete is Poured
The concrete is mixed and poured over the fast drain and around the new sump pump.
